Artist Statement My artwork is created of three individual panels . It was required for it to have an animal and a background to be zentangles. I used many curvy lines for the wind to show relaxation and a quiet night. As well as the branches to show a moving effect. In addition, many little pieces of the wind to show how the wind was carrying it . This also emphasized on it being a relaxing night. I used Zig Zag lines for the moon to pop out more and emphasized it. I used many dark values on the tree and wolf and the moon to emphasize those parts more . The background I lightly zentangle it so it would not draw away the attention of the main components of the piece. At first I drew various outlines on how I wanted my wolf to be and I ended up liking the wolf howling at the moon . However, it seemed to much blank space so I kept on adding things for the piece to seem more realistic. The materials I mainly used was blank sheet of paper a pencil to use for the outline and a sharpie for the final product.I was inspired by how many people have a different perspective on a wolf. They are mainly seen as fierce creatures but I wanted the wolf to be seen more as a peaceful creature. Addition to that it was also around the time of halloween and how better to show fall and give a halloween spirit by drawing a wolf.. The main focus of this was to expand on how beautiful the night really is. My goal for this artwork was for the main focus to be the wolf but I ended up doing the wolf in a scenario . This took off some of the focus on the wolf and gave it to the whole piece. It still ended up to b e a beautiful piece that I am extremely proud of. I may have not reached my goal fully but I was satisfied with the outcome.I learned that giving effort in apiece will never fail. I would have never believed that I was able to draw that. I always doubted that I can draw it is one of my worst skills. However, this project tells a different story. This will influence to keep on giving effort and becoming a better artist.
